Pabna, Oct 23 (V7N) – Under the influence of Cyclone 'Dana,' drizzling rain began in Pabna this Wednesday afternoon, disrupting daily activities and leaving many stranded. The sky started becoming cloudy around 2 PM, followed by light rain at 3:30 PM, alternating between drizzle and moderate rain, accompanied by gusts of wind.

Local residents, including day laborers and students, faced challenges as they were caught off guard by the sudden downpour. Many were seen taking shelter under umbrellas or nearby shops, trying to escape the rain. Housewives, like Salma Akhtar from Radhanagar Mahalla, found themselves stuck while taking their children to coaching classes. "I thought it would take longer for the rain to start, but I got stuck in the middle of the road," Salma told Voice7 News.

Similarly, day laborer Moynal Hossain, who was heading home after work, shared his struggle with the rain. "We have to work to eat, rain or no rain. I worked in the rain and now I’m heading home," he said.

Rickshaw pullers in the city were also seen driving wrapped in polythene as the drizzling rain continued, making transportation difficult for commuters. Many school and college students returned home drenched.

Nazmul Haque Ranjan, Assistant Meteorological Observer of the Ishwardi Meteorological Office, informed Voice7 News that the current drizzling is due to low pressure brought on by Cyclone 'Dana.' He predicted that the rain is likely to continue for the next two to three days but assured that there is no threat of a storm in the Pabna region.

The highest temperature recorded in Pabna on Wednesday was 34.1°C, with a minimum of 24.5°C, according to Nazmul Haque. The total rainfall measurement will be available at 6 PM.
