Kurigram, Oct 28 (V7N)- In observance of World Health Day, a discussion meeting and rally were held in Kurigram, emphasizing the critical importance of mental health in the workplace. Hosted at the Civil Surgeon’s conference room, the event brought together healthcare professionals and community leaders to discuss ways to enhance mental health awareness across workplaces and society.

Kurigram Civil Surgeon Dr. Manjur-A Morshed addressed attendees, highlighting the role of family and societal support in mental health, stating, “We need to build awareness within our communities, rather than relying solely on doctors.”

The event featured a panel of speakers, including Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. A.N.M. Golam Muhaimen, Sadar Upazila Health and Population Officer Sadat Shahriar, child and mental health specialist Dr. Rumana Haque, Medical Officer Dr. Jeba Nuri, and World Health Organization Program Officer Dr. Jinya. Each shared insights on improving mental well-being and reducing the stigma surrounding mental health issues in the workplace.

Following the meeting, participants joined a large rally through the streets of Kurigram, promoting the message of mental health awareness to the wider community. The event underscored the importance of integrating mental health into everyday conversations and building supportive environments in both work and personal life.
