Rajshahi, Apr 29 (V7N)- A four-member team from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) launched a raid on the office of the Executive Engineer of Rajshahi LGED on Tuesday morning, in connection with long-standing allegations of corruption and irregularities in project execution.

The raid began at 11:30 am and was led by Ismail Hossain, Assistant Director of the ACC’s District Coordination Office. The team first entered the office of Executive Engineer Zahurul Islam, where they searched documents and inquired about various project files.

Following the initial search, several officials and employees of the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) were also questioned regarding project implementation, procurement, and fund disbursement processes.

The ACC’s move comes after repeated complaints from locals and stakeholders alleging corruption, nepotism, and arbitrary decisions in the handling of government-funded development projects by LGED officials.

Officials said the raid is part of the ACC’s broader drive to enhance accountability and curb misuse of public funds.
