Rangamati, July 2 (V7N) — Police recovered the body of a judge’s wife under mysterious circumstances from a rented flat in Alam Dockyard area of Rangamati on Tuesday evening.
 
According to local sources at the scene, Senior Judicial Magistrate Raihan Chowdhury of the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in Rangamati lived in the six-floor building along with his family, including his wife, two young children, and mother.
 
Eyewitnesses said that police arrived suddenly in the evening, prompting residents to inquire about the incident. Authorities informed that the judge’s wife was found dead, suspected to be a case of suicide.
 
Mohammad Sahed Uddin, Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Police Station, said police reached the spot after receiving the report. Upon entering the flat, they discovered the deceased lying on the floor with a scarf tied to the ceiling fan.
 
Although the police initially suspect it to be a suicide, a thorough investigation is underway. The body has been sent to Rangamati General Hospital for postmortem examination. Further details will be disclosed once the autopsy report is available.
 
The investigation remains ongoing, and the exact cause of death will be confirmed based on the findings of the forensic report.
