Khagrachari, July 12 (V7N)- "In Khagrachhari, a grand Buddhist religious ceremony was held to uphold the teachings. On Friday morning, residents of the Paschim Narayan Khaiya area in Khagrachhari Sadar organized a significant event where they donated Buddha statues, made community offerings, constructed various facilities, lit thousands of lamps, and provided food offerings as part of a major merit-making ceremony.

During the event, chaired by Kabi Raj Angchingnu Marma, the chief guest was Venerable Bodhipal Mahathero, the president of Gamaridhala Bonbihar. The ceremony aimed to invoke blessings for the well-being of families, communities, and the nation through the donation of Buddha statues and various offerings.

Towards the conclusion of the religious gathering, a meritorious ritual was conducted in the presence of the venerable monks' community for the eternal peace and well-being of departed souls such as Swargiyo Angnya Rakhaing, Pruthoyai Marma, and Swargiyo Dungmachi Marma. This included the donation of Buddha statues, community offerings, construction of various facilities, lighting of thousands of lamps, food offerings, and various other charitable donations.

During the religious assembly, Shyamlal Mitra Chakma, principal of Munigram High School, delivered a speech. Prominent figures present included Venerable Acharya Aggrajyoti Mahathero, president of Dashabol Buddhist Bihar; Atish Chakma, Khagrachhari Commissioner; Venerable Panthak Mahathero, president of Benuban Bonbihar; Arya Bodhi Mahathero, president of Kshantipur Bonkuthir; Rashtra Pal Mahathero, president of Maitri Bon Bihar; and Pragna Jyoti Mahathero, president of Purna Joy Mahajan Para Gautam Buddha Bihar.

Various vihara presidents and hundreds of Buddhist devotees attended the auspicious ceremony.
