Rangamati, Sep 24 (V7N)- The district administration has imposed a temporary ban on tourists visiting Sajek, the scenic tourist hotspot in Rangamati, for three days from Wednesday to Friday. This decision was announced by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain Khan during a law and order committee meeting on Tuesday.

The ban comes in light of recent unrest, which left 1,400 tourists stranded in Khagrachari and Rangamati. Authorities had to act swiftly to ensure the safe evacuation of the stranded individuals. As a precautionary measure, the administration has decided to restrict access to Sajek for the next three days to ensure the safety of potential visitors.

Rangamati Superintendent of Police Farhad Hossain, who also attended the meeting, stated that actions are being taken against those responsible for the recent conflict. Authorities have collected significant evidence, including videos and pictures, and investigations are underway.

The administration has urged tourists to comply with the temporary restrictions while efforts are made to restore normalcy in the region.
