Dhaka, Nov 24 (V7N) – A total of 18,149 candidates are set to be recruited through five Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) exams, as announced by Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, Md Mokhlesur Rahman.

In a press briefing held at the Ministry’s conference room on Sunday, the Senior Secretary stated that 12,710 candidates will be appointed to cadre positions, while 5,439 will fill non-cadre roles.

Recruitment Details

  • 43rd BCS: The gazette for 2,064 candidates has been published, with the joining date scheduled for January 1. However, criticisms regarding the recruitment process have prompted additional background checks by intelligence agencies, including NSI and DGFI, to ensure transparency.
  • 44th BCS: Oral exams for 11,732 candidates were halted after 3,930 candidates had already been tested. The newly formed commission has decided to re-conduct oral exams for all candidates who passed the written test, ensuring fairness.
  • 45th BCS: Preliminary exam results revealed 12,789 successful candidates. Written exam answer sheets, initially checked by two examiners, are now being reviewed by a third examiner to maintain transparency.
  • 46th BCS: Preliminary results, announced on May 9, initially qualified 10,638 candidates for the written exam. Following revisions, an additional 10,638 candidates have been included, raising the total to 21,276.
  • 47th BCS: The Public Service Commission has been instructed to recruit 3,487 candidates for various cadres.

Commitment to Transparency

The commission’s decision to review and revise results underscores its commitment to maintaining a fair and transparent recruitment process.
