Dhaka, Sept 9 (V7N) - Abu Bakar Majumder, general secretary (GS) candidate of the Bangladesh Democratic Students’ Union-supported panel ‘Anti-Discrimination Student Council,’ emphasized that all candidates must accept the verdict of the students in the ongoing Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) and Hall Union elections.
 
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday morning at the TSC polling center, Majumder said, “The outcome decided by the students must be accepted. This is logical and must happen. There is no room for anything else.” He expressed satisfaction with the overall election environment, noting that the atmosphere has been lively and positive since campaigning began. Voters have shown keen interest, and he expressed hope that students would elect capable leaders.
 
The TSC polling center, along with other centers across the campus, witnessed long queues of students from early morning. Only students with valid ID cards were allowed entry. Mobile phones and bags were prohibited inside the polling areas. At the entrance, representatives of candidates distributed leaflets and handbills to guide voters.
 
The DUCSU elections, which began with strict monitoring and OMR-based ballots, involve 28 central council posts and 13 hall union posts, with a total of 39,874 students eligible to vote. Students can cast votes for a total of 41 posts, and counting will be conducted using 14 machines across 8 centers, with results to be announced at the Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building.
