Dhaka, Sept 9 (V7N) – Voting continued at the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) elections on Tuesday, with female students casting their ballots at the Kurzon Hall polling center, designated for the Department of Anthropology.

Long queues of female voters were observed outside the polling station as students arrived enthusiastically to participate in the electoral process. Entry was strictly for ID card holders, and mobile phones and bags were prohibited inside the polling area. Polling officials and volunteer staff guided students to ensure smooth voting procedures.

Each voter will cast ballots for 41 positions, including 28 central students’ union seats and 13 hall students’ union seats. The election uses six-page OMR ballots, which will later be counted using 14 scanning machines across eight polling centers. The final results will be announced at the Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building.

Election candidates include students from multiple political panels such as Chatra Dal, Chatra Shibir, Chatra Odhikar Parishad, Islami Chatra Andolon,, and independent panels. Both male and female candidates are contesting key positions including Vice President and General Secretary.

The Kurzon Hall polling center specifically accommodates female students from the Anthropology Department, who participated actively in the voting process, reflecting the vibrant student engagement in the 38th DUCSU election.
