The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education in Bangladesh has announced the resumption of all education programs in government primary schools starting tomorrow, May 7. This decision comes after a temporary closure due to protests across the country.

In a press release issued by Mahbubur Rahman Tuhin, the senior information officer of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, it was stated that all activities, including class sessions, in government primary schools, Shishu Kalyan Trust primary schools, and non-formal education bureau learning centers, will resume as per the academic calendar for the current year, 2024.

Initially, schools and colleges were scheduled to reopen on April 21 after the Eid holidays. However, the reopening was postponed until April 28 due to widespread protests. Unfortunately, the following day, the High Court ordered the closure of all primary, secondary, and madrasa classes nationwide. Consequently, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education announced the temporary closure of primary schools across the country.

With the situation now stabilized, the Ministry has given the green light for the resumption of normal activities in government primary schools, ensuring continuity in the education system despite recent disruptions.
