Tongi, Feb 14 (V7N)— The second phase of the Biswa Ijtema commenced today with a public address by Delhi's Maulana Abdus Sattar, drawing thousands of devotees to the banks of the Turag River in Tongi. Security has been heightened to ensure the smooth conduct of the event.

The Khitay Khitay Talim began at 10 AM, featuring separate speeches for different groups, including government officials, journalists, university teachers, students, and the deaf.

Md. Sayem, media coordinator of the Nizamuddin faction of Tablighi Jamaat, noted the significance of this year's event. "For the first time, the holy Shab-e-Barat and Jumma prayers are coinciding at the Ijtema ground. Law enforcement agencies are on high alert to maintain security," he stated.

The day's sermons will be delivered by prominent scholars:

  • Maulana Wasiful Islam of Kakrail Mosque after Jumma prayers
  • Hafez Manzoor after Asr prayers
  • Maulana Ruhul Amin will translate these sermons
  • Maulana Jamshed after Maghrib prayers, with a translation by Maulana Munir bin Yusuf

A special dowry-free wedding ceremony is scheduled for Saturday after Asr prayers, following a religious sermon.

The three-day congregation will conclude with the final Akheri Munajat (grand prayer) on Sunday, where millions of Muslims are expected to seek blessings for peace and prosperity.
