Dhaka, Dec 02 (V7N) – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep concern over the deteriorating health of Bangladesh’s former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson, Begum Khaleda Zia. In a social media post on Monday, Modi stated that India is ready to provide any possible assistance to support her treatment. This was reported by the Indian media outlet, Hindustan Times.

On social media platform X, Modi wrote: “I am deeply concerned to learn about Begum Khaleda Zia’s health. She has made significant contributions to the public life of Bangladesh over many years. I wish her a speedy recovery. India stands ready to provide all possible assistance in any way we can.”

Meanwhile, a five-member Chinese medical team has arrived in Dhaka to assist in the treatment of Khaleda Zia. They reached Evercare Hospital on Monday afternoon, December 1. Khaleda Zia’s personal physician, Dr. Al Mamun, confirmed the arrival of the Chinese medical team and stated that the main medical team will arrive on Tuesday, December 2.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir confirmed that Khaleda Zia’s condition is stable and that she is under close observation by her doctors. Speaking to the media, he said, “Madam Khaleda Zia’s condition is stable, and her treatment is ongoing under the careful supervision of her medical team. Various media reports about her condition are circulating, but people should not be misled by any unverified news.”

He also urged BNP leaders, party workers, and the citizens of Bangladesh to pray for her swift recovery.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi added, “The treatment in the ICU at Evercare Hospital is continuing as before. Please do not be misled by any false information regarding her health. Specialist doctors are attending to her continuously, and she is receiving the necessary medical care. We request everyone to pray for her speedy recovery and for her to return to us in good health.”
