Dhaka, Dec 27 (V7N)- BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman visited the graves of 57 army officers martyred in the Pilkhana Tragedy at the Banani Military Cemetery on Saturday afternoon.

He was accompanied by Khaleda Zia and his Chief Security Officer, Brigadier General (Retd) Dr. AKM Shamsul Islam during the visit.

The Pilkhana Tragedy occurred on February 25-26, 2009, when 57 brave army officers, including the then BDR Director General Major General Shakil Ahmed, were killed.

Earlier on the same day, Tarique Rahman had visited the graves of his younger brother, late Arafat Rahman Koko, and his father-in-law, Rear Admiral Mahbub Ali Khan, at the Banani cemetery.
