Mumbai, Oct 14 (V7N) — In a shocking incident, former Indian minister and NCP leader Baba Siddiqui was brutally murdered in Mumbai on Saturday evening, and police have identified the Lawrence Bishnoi gang as being behind the attack. The gang, which has been issuing threats to Bollywood superstar Salman Khan for years , has now claimed responsibility for the killing.

Baba Siddiqui was attacked and beaten to death outside his son Zeeshan's office in Bandra. In the aftermath, Mumbai police increased security around Salman Khan's residence , the Galaxy apartment in Bandra, in response to concerns about his safety. Videos circulating on social media have shown an increased police presence outside the actor’s home.

According to reports from *Hindustan Times*, Salman Khan visited Lilavati Hospital late Saturday night to offer his condolences to Baba Siddiqui’s family.

Two suspects, Gurmail Baljit Singh from Haryana and Dharmaraj Rajesh Kashyap from Uttar Pradesh, have already been arrested in connection with the murder. Police are actively searching for a third suspect, Shiv Kumar , who is also from Uttar Pradesh.

Investigators have revealed that the murder was premeditated . The assailants were reportedly paid in advance and supplied with weapons days before the incident. The police believe that Baba Siddiqui’s closeness with Salman Khan may have been the motive behind the attack, given the long-standing threats made by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang against the actor.

Authorities are continuing their investigation, and security measures have been significantly tightened in key areas as the police work to track down the remaining culprits.
