New Delhi, Apr 26 (V7N)- US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard expressed deep condolences and support for India following the recent terrorist attack in Kashmir's Pahalgam, which left 26 tourists dead.
According to reports from The Times of India, NDTV, and several international outlets, Gabbard conveyed her message through a post on social media platform X on Friday (April 25). In her statement, she addressed Prime Minister Narendra Modi directly, emphasizing that Washington stands firmly with New Delhi in the pursuit of justice for those responsible for the heinous act.
“We stand with you and support you in finding those responsible for this horrific attack,” Tulsi Gabbard wrote, describing the incident as a "horrific Islamist terrorist attack that killed Hindus."
Earlier, former US President Donald Trump also condemned the attack. In a phone call to Prime Minister Modi on Wednesday, Trump expressed his condolences and reiterated America’s full support for India in ensuring that the perpetrators are brought to justice.
Additionally, Trump shared his reaction via a post on his social media platform Truth Social, stating that he was "deeply shocked" by the tragedy and reaffirmed that "the United States stands firmly with India in the fight against terrorism."
Meanwhile, militant group ‘The Resistance Front’ (TRF) — believed to be a branch of the Pakistan-based banned organization Lashkar-e-Taiba — has reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack, escalating regional tensions even further.
The strong expressions of solidarity from the United States reflect growing international outrage and support for India in its ongoing battle against terrorism.
