Gaza, Aug 08 (V7N)- Israel’s security committee has approved a military plan to occupy Gaza, home to millions of Palestinians, according to a source from the Prime Minister’s Office. The cabinet also adopted five principles aimed at ending the ongoing war, including forming an alternative civilian government that excludes both Hamas and the Palestinian Authority.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plan has sparked opposition within Israel. Families of hostages held by Hamas warn that the operation could endanger the lives of the captives, and critics fear further civilian casualties among Palestinians.
Military leaders and opposition voices cautioned that the occupation could deepen Israel’s international isolation amid global condemnation of the conflict in Gaza.
Netanyahu’s office issued a statement confirming the plan to seize Gaza City while pledging to provide humanitarian aid to civilians outside the conflict zone.
