Jerusalem, Jun 23 (V7N)- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that military operations in Lebanon will continue, as tensions remain high along the northern border.
In a joint press briefing, Defense Minister Israel Katz and Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Yal Zamir said that strict measures would be maintained to counter any perceived threats originating from Lebanon.
They emphasized that the Israel Defense Forces will continue operations aimed at preventing attacks on Israeli soldiers and civilians, dismantling militant infrastructure, and maintaining what they described as a security buffer zone in southern Lebanon.
The officials further stressed that the protection of Israeli civilians and military personnel remains the highest priority and will not be compromised under any circumstances.
Following the briefing, Prime Minister Netanyahu, the Defense Minister, and the army chief reportedly held a phone conversation with senior officials of the Northern Command to review the current security situation and operational readiness.
The statement comes amid ongoing regional tensions and heightened military activity along the Israel–Lebanon frontier.
