Washington, July 28 (V7N)- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has arrived in the United States for a meeting with US President Donald Trump to discuss the ongoing situation in the Middle East, with Iran expected to top the agenda.
The meeting is scheduled to take place in Washington, where the two leaders are also expected to discuss regional security and efforts to expand peace initiatives across the Middle East.
Before departing for the United States, Netanyahu said Iran would be the most important issue in the talks.
"We will discuss all the issues on the agenda. The most important of these is Iran. At the same time, our goal will be to ensure Israel's security and expand the scope of peace around us," he said.
The Israeli prime minister added that leadership during times of crisis requires both determination and careful judgment.
"In my experience as prime minister, in such critical times, you have to move forward with both firmness and wisdom," Netanyahu said.
Describing the visit as significant, he said he was traveling with the objective of strengthening Israel's security and safeguarding the country's future.
Netanyahu also noted that this would be his eighth meeting with President Trump since Trump's second term began.
"I have met with him more than any other head of state during his second term. It is a great honor, but also a great responsibility," he said.
In addition to his meeting with President Trump, Netanyahu is also scheduled to attend the funeral of US Senator Lindsey Graham during his visit to the United States. According to the information provided, the senator died on July 12 following a short illness.
