West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee encountered a mishap on Saturday while boarding a helicopter in Durgapur. The incident occurred as she was en route to attend campaign meetings for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Asansol.

According to reports by Anandabazar newspaper, Mamata Banerjee had two campaign meetings scheduled in Asansol and was traveling by helicopter from Durgapur. However, she suddenly lost her balance and fell while attempting to board the helicopter.

Video footage of the incident captured Mamata Banerjee descending from her car and proceeding towards the helicopter. As she climbed the stairs and reached the front seat, her hand slipped, causing her to fall. The Chief Minister's bodyguards rushed to assist her, helping her to get back on her feet.

This incident comes just weeks after Mamata Banerjee sustained an injury in a fall at her home on March 14. Following that incident, she was hospitalized and received treatment for a forehead injury.

Despite the fall, Mamata Banerjee proceeded with her campaign schedule and attended meetings in Kulti and Asansol in support of Trinamool candidate Shatrughan Sinha. Notably, she did not cancel the meetings and continued addressing the crowd energetically, without mentioning the incident.

In recent public addresses, Mamata Banerjee has voiced concerns about the challenging conditions of campaigning in the summer heat, referring to helicopters as "heat chambers" and highlighting the discomfort caused by extreme temperatures.

Despite the setback, Mamata Banerjee displayed resilience and carried on with her campaign activities, reaffirming her commitment to the political cause she champions in West Bengal.
