The Popular Mobilization Unit (PMU), a coalition of Iraqi anti-terrorist organizations, has conducted its first kamikaze drone attack on the Israeli port of Eilat. Despite the assault, Israeli authorities have remained silent about the extent of the damage inflicted.

According to reports from Iran-based Press TV, the PMU claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement released via the social media platform Telegram on Tuesday.

In the statement, the PMU declared that it had successfully targeted a key Zionist installation within the Eilat seaport. The attack was carried out as part of the ongoing resistance against what it termed "the barbaric aggression" of Israel in the besieged Gaza Strip.

The PMU affirmed its commitment to continue striking significant Israeli installations until the alleged massacre and aggression in Gaza come to an end.

The kamikaze drone utilized in the attack has been identified as the Al-Arfad. This marks the first instance of the Al-Arfad suicide drone being deployed in operations against Israeli interests in the West Asian region.

The Al-Arfad drone shares similarities with the advanced and long-range Samad drone developed domestically in Yemen, showcasing the evolving capabilities of resistance factions in the region.

The attack comes amidst escalating tensions following a significant military operation launched by the Hamas government in Gaza last October. In response, Israel initiated airstrikes and ground assaults, resulting in the loss of thousands of Palestinian lives and leaving tens of thousands more injured.

In condemnation of what they perceive as ongoing genocide, various political organizations across the Middle East, including those in Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, and Yemen, have declared open hostility towards Israel, vowing to continue their resistance efforts.
