Gaza City, 13 July— At least 20 Palestinians were killed in an Israeli airstrike in the densely populated al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis, Gaza. The British media outlet BBC reported the information, citing the Hamas-run Ministry of Health.

According to the report, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) had previously advised Palestinians to seek refuge in the area, declaring it a "safe zone." Despite this assurance, the IDF launched a devastating attack, resulting in significant casualties.

The Ministry of Health stated that more than 90 people were injured in the airstrike. The Israeli military is currently investigating the incident, according to Reuters.

Eyewitnesses described the aftermath of the strike as resembling an "earthquake," highlighting the severe destruction and chaos at the site.

The attack has drawn widespread condemnation and raised serious questions about the IDF's targeting practices and the safety of designated refuge areas in Gaza.
