The United States has approved plans for a series of attacks on multiple targets, including Iranian personnel and installations, in Iraq and Syria. US media CBS reported about US officials approving the attack on Thursday.

US officials said these attacks will continue for several days. Weather conditions will depend on when the attack starts.

But CBS did not say what type of attack the US would authorize. However, as previously stated, US officials know how to punish Iranian-backed militias without going to war with Iran.

Officials who spoke to CBS News also did not give an idea of a possible timeframe for the attack. They said the US military could launch attacks in adverse weather conditions. But they prefer to attack in favorable weather. Because it has the potential to reduce the risk of civilian casualties.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said this week that drone strikes in northeastern Jordan near the Syrian border could be responded to in a number of ways, after three US soldiers were killed in a drone strike near the Jordanian-Syrian border. Injuries will come in stages.

It was the first fatal attack against US forces since the start of the Israel-Gaza conflict. The Iranian-backed Iraqi armed group Kataib Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the attack.
