Dhaka, Sep 18 (V7N): Martin Raiser, the World Bank Vice President for the South Asia Region, arrived in Dhaka on Wednesday for a two-day visit. During his stay, Raiser will hold meetings with Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus, Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed, Energy Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Ahsan H Mansur, and other senior government officials, according to a statement from the World Bank.

The World Bank has been a key development partner of Bangladesh since its independence, committing approximately $44 billion to the country, mainly through grants and concessional credits. Bangladesh currently holds the largest ongoing program supported by the International Development Association (IDA), a branch of the World Bank Group.
