Sept 28, V7N - Paris St. Germain (PSG) maintained their unbeaten run in Ligue 1 with a 3-1 victory over Rennes at Parc des Princes on Friday, thanks to a standout performance from Bradley Barcola, who scored twice. Following a strong start to the season that saw PSG net 13 goals in their first three matches, their attacking prowess had waned recently, but they displayed signs of a resurgence against Rennes.

With this win, PSG moved to 16 points, three ahead of Olympique de Marseille and Monaco at the top of the standings. Although they missed several good opportunities, PSG broke the deadlock in the 30th minute when Ousmane Dembele assisted Barcola, who curled the ball into the net with precision.

The contest was significantly influenced by Barcola's duel with Rennes defender Leo Ostigard. PSG doubled their lead in the 58th minute when Barcola hit the post with a powerful shot, and South Korean midfielder Lee Kang-in reacted swiftly to head in the rebound.

Ten minutes later, Barcola scored again, finishing from close range after a perfectly weighted pass from Achraf Hakimi found him at the far post, making it 3-0.

Rennes found a glimmer of hope in the 75th minute when Arnaud Kalimuendo converted a penalty, sending goalkeeper Steve Mandanda the wrong way. This goal put PSG under pressure as the visitors pushed for another. However, an 87th-minute effort by Alidu Seidu was disallowed after the ball struck his hand in the buildup, effectively quashing Rennes' brief comeback attempt.
