Oct 22, V7N- Two of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' key players, wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, sustained injuries during the team's 41-31 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night. Evans injured his hamstring, while Godwin suffered a more serious ankle injury.

Evans went down first, clutching his right hamstring after failing to secure a 24-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter. Though he walked off the field under his own power, he did not return to the game. Prior to his exit, Evans had one catch, a 25-yard touchdown, marking his 100th career TD and making him the 11th player in NFL history to reach that milestone. He has six touchdowns and 335 receiving yards on 26 catches this season.

Godwin's injury occurred in the final minute of the game, with Tampa Bay trailing by 10 points. He was injured after his left ankle got caught under Baltimore linebacker Roquan Smith following a 21-yard reception. Godwin was in visible pain, and medical personnel placed his foot in an air cast before carting him off the field. After the game, Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles confirmed that Godwin had dislocated his ankle and is out indefinitely. Godwin had seven receptions for 65 yards before his injury and has totaled 50 receptions for 576 yards and five touchdowns in seven games this season.

Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield acknowledged the challenge the team now faces with both receivers injured, saying that they will need other players to step up in their absence. With this loss, the Buccaneers fell to a 4-3 record.
