Oct 23, V7N- LeBron James and his son Bronny made history on Tuesday, becoming the first father-son duo to play together in a regular-season NBA game as the Los Angeles Lakers faced off against the Minnesota Timberwolves in their season opener. The crowd at the sold-out arena erupted when 20-year-old Bronny checked into the game with four minutes left in the first half, joining LeBron on the court as the Lakers led 51-35.

This marks the first time in NBA history that a father and son have played not only in the same season but also on the same team. The duo had previously shared the court during a preseason game earlier in the month.

LeBron, 39, had long expressed a desire to play alongside his son, which became a reality after Bronny was selected with the 55th pick in the NBA Draft following a season at the University of Southern California. LeBron, the NBA's all-time leading scorer and a four-time champion, is in his 22nd season but has yet to announce his retirement plans.

For Bronny, the debut represents the beginning of his journey to establish himself in the NBA, where he has grown up watching his legendary father play for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, and Lakers.

Also attending the historic game were Ken Griffey Sr. and Ken Griffey Jr., a famous father-son duo in Major League Baseball. They played together for the Seattle Mariners and hit back-to-back home runs in 1990. The Griffeys were welcomed warmly at midcourt by LeBron and Bronny, where the four posed for photos before the game.
