Oct 27, V7N- Ferrari's team principal, Fred Vasseur, expressed satisfaction with the team's quiet but effective rise in the Formula One constructors' title race after Carlos Sainz clinched pole position at the Mexico City Grand Prix. Ferrari’s recent success, including a one-two finish in Texas, has brought them within eight points of defending champions Red Bull and 40 points of leaders McLaren. With Sainz and teammate Charles Leclerc both starting inside the top 10, Ferrari is the only top contender with such a strong grid presence for Sunday's race.

Vasseur noted that Ferrari’s current position allows them to fly "under the radar," drawing less attention compared to the high-profile battles between McLaren and Red Bull. This, he believes, is an ideal situation for Ferrari as they pursue the title.

Sainz, who will depart Ferrari for Williams next season, emphasized the importance of maximizing points for the team. Aiming to maintain his lead from the pole into Turn 1, Sainz said he is hopeful Ferrari’s race pace will be competitive enough to secure a win, which could be crucial in closing the constructors' points gap.
