Nov 16, (V7N) - After a disappointing loss in the opening match, Bangladesh is eager to restore pride when they face Maldives in the second of their two-match FIFA Friendlies today (Saturday) evening at Bashundhara Kings Arena in the capital. The match will kick off at 6 pm and will be broadcast live on T-Sports.

With a narrow 1-0 defeat in the first match, Bangladesh now faces a must-win scenario to level the series. Despite dominating possession and creating numerous attacking opportunities, Bangladesh was unable to convert those chances into goals. The match ended in frustration for the hosts, who were unable to capitalize on their possession.

In a post-match reflection, head coach Javier Cabrera emphasized the need for Bangladesh to translate their positive play into goals in the second match. The players and fans alike will be hoping for a much-needed response in front of their home crowd.

On the other hand, Maldives will be confident after securing the first-match win with an early goal from Ali Fasir, who scored a well-taken header in the 18th minute following a free-kick, leaving Bangladesh's goalkeeper Mitul Marma with no chance to save.

Maldives' coach Ali Suzain will be hoping for a repeat performance from his side, aiming to close out the series with another strong showing.

This will be the 20th meeting between the two nations. Of their previous 19 encounters, Bangladesh has won 6, drawn 6, and lost 7. Currently, Bangladesh is ranked 185th in the world, while Maldives is ranked 163rd.

As the teams prepare for the clash, the pressure is on Bangladesh to show resilience, improve their finishing, and make the most of their attacking opportunities to avoid another frustrating result.
