Nov 26, (V7N) - Top-ranked Scottie Scheffler, two-time major winner Xander Schauffele, and DP World Tour Championship winner Rory McIlroy were announced as nominees for the 2024 PGA Tour Player of the Year award. The award, along with the Arnold Palmer Award for PGA Rookie of the Year, will be voted on by PGA Tour members until December 4, with the winners revealed by the end of the year.

Scheffler, 28, had an exceptional season, securing seven PGA Tour victories, including his second Masters title in three years. He also triumphed in the Arnold Palmer Invitational, The Players Championship, the Heritage and Memorial tournaments, the Travelers Championship, and the season-ending Tour Championship to win the FedEx Cup. Scheffler was the season money leader and earned the Byron Nelson Award for low scoring average at 68.645 strokes, with 16 top-10 finishes and no missed cuts.

Schauffele, 31, captured his first two major titles with wins at the PGA Championship and the British Open. He finished second in scoring average at 69.137 and had 15 top-10 finishes without missing a cut.

McIlroy, 35, won the Zurich Classic with Shane Lowry and the Wells Fargo Championship for his fourth PGA Tour title. He had 15 top-10 finishes and finished second at the US Open to Bryson DeChambeau in a bid for his fifth major title.

Rookie of the Year nominees include 20-year-old Nick Dunlap, who won the American Express as an amateur and later turned professional to win the Barracuda Championship. Matthieu Pavon, 32, claimed the Farmers Insurance Open and finished third at Pebble Beach and fifth at the US Open. Jake Knapp, 30, won the Mexico Open, while Max Greyserman, 29, was a three-time runner-up.
