Ten-man Bashundhara Kings played Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra in their last game of the first leg of the Bangladesh Premier League football match on Friday 23rd February, but they were unable to win as they drew 1-1 at the Bashundhara Kings Arena to split points.

The match saw forward Rakib Hossain scoring for Bashundhara, while Japanese midfielder Kodai Iida found the net for Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra.

After a goalless first half, Kodai Iida broke the deadlock, scoring the first goal for Sheikh Russel in the 46th minute. However, Rakib Hossain managed to restore parity for Bashundhara in the 67th minute of the match.

Bashundhara Kings faced a setback when their Brazilian forward Dorielton was shown a direct red card for unsporting behavior, reducing them to ten men.

Despite the draw, Bashundhara concluded the first leg of the season on a positive note, securing the top spot with 22 points. Meanwhile, Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra, standing at the fifth position in the league table, collected 10 points from the same number of matches.
