Dhaka, Dec 30 (V7N)- Durbar Rajshahi, struggling to find consistency, posted an imposing 197/3 in their 20 overs against Fortune Barishal at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. Yasir Ali was the standout performer, smashing an unbeaten 94 off 47 balls, including seven boundaries and eight towering sixes, to anchor Rajshahi’s innings after early setbacks. Captain Anamul Haque contributed a solid 65 off 51, forming a 140-run partnership with Yasir that shifted momentum firmly in Rajshahi's favor.
Barishal’s bowlers endured a torrid time, with only Kyle Mayers providing some respite by picking up 2/13 in his three overs. Ripon Mondol and Tanvir Islam struggled, conceding 55 and 44 runs respectively in their full quotas. Despite their efforts, Rajshahi’s aggressive batting, coupled with 16 extras, ensured a daunting target for Barishal.
The innings started poorly for Rajshahi, losing Jishan Alam and Mohammad Haris early to leave them reeling at 25/2. However, Yasir’s calculated aggression and Anamul’s steady hand rebuilt the innings. Yasir’s blitzkrieg saw the last three overs yield 32 runs, ensuring Rajshahi ended on a high.
With Barishal’s chase set to test the depth of their batting, all eyes will be on the in-form Shaheen Afridi and Kyle Mayers to lead with the ball. A thrilling contest awaits, as Rajshahi looks to defend their total in a crucial clash.
