DHAKA, Jan 26, (V7N) - The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced the chairmen for its standing committees today, following a meeting at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. However, the chairmen for the Working and Security Committees are yet to be finalized.

BCB President Faruque Ahmed, who took over leadership after the fall of the Awami League regime, faces challenges in managing the board's daily operations. With only 10 active directors, most have been assigned to oversee multiple committees to ensure smooth functioning.

Iftekhar Ahmed Mithu has been appointed as the chairman of the Media and Communications Committee, while Najmul Abedin Fahim will head the Cricket Operations and Women’s Wing. President Faruque Ahmed himself will chair the Marketing Committee. Each chairman has been tasked with forming their respective committees promptly, according to Mithu.

A total of 21 standing committee chairmen were named. Key appointments include Fahim Sinha overseeing Finance, Game Development, and Logistics; Mahbub Anam leading the Grounds, High Performance Unit, and Tender and Purchase Committees; and Akram Khan managing Tournament, Facilities Management, and Physically Challenged Persons.

Other appointments include Saiful Alam Chowdhury Sopon for Age Group and Disciplinary Committees, Mohammad Salahuddin for CCDM and Audit, Monjur Alam for Medical and Welfare, and Kazi Inam for the Bangladesh Tigers program. The full composition of these committees will be announced soon.
