Dhaka, Mar 02 (V7N) – Indian cricket star Virat Kohli is on the verge of achieving another significant milestone in his career. Kohli will become the seventh Indian cricketer to play 300 One-Day International (ODI) matches when he steps onto the field for India's final group match against New Zealand in the ICC Champions Trophy today.

Both India and New Zealand have already secured spots in the semi-finals of this year's Champions Trophy, but today's match holds added significance as the winner will advance as the group champion. The main highlight of the match, however, is Kohli's imminent achievement.

Kohli recently scored an unbeaten century against Pakistan in the group stage of the tournament, where he also surpassed the 14,000-run mark in ODIs. He reached this milestone in the fewest innings, breaking the record previously held by his compatriot, the legendary Sachin Tendulkar.

Notably, Tendulkar holds the record for the most ODI appearances for India with 463 matches. Mahendra Singh Dhoni, with 347 matches, follows in second place, while Rahul Dravid, Mohammad Azharuddin, Sourav Ganguly, and Yuvraj Singh complete the list with 340, 334, 308, and 301 matches respectively.
