Dhaka, Mar 20 (V7N) – The Bangladesh national football team has departed for India to participate in the Asian Cup qualifiers. The squad boarded a flight to Kolkata at 9 AM on Thursday (March 20) and will proceed to Shillong after a short transit. The team is expected to check into their hotel by 5 PM.
Bangladesh will begin their training in India from Friday (March 21) as they prepare for their crucial match against India on March 25.
The final squad consists of 23 players, but 24 players traveled to India for the match. Notably, Hamza Chowdhury, the Leicester City midfielder of Bangladeshi descent, is set to make his debut in the Asian Cup qualifiers. He arrived in Dhaka on March 17 and has joined the squad for the upcoming match.
This match is expected to be a key test for Bangladesh’s football ambitions, as they seek to secure a spot in the Asian Cup.
