In the series-deciding third ODI between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh at Chattogram's Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Sri Lankan captain Kusal Mendis won the toss and chose to bat first.

Bangladesh made three changes to their lineup in a bid to secure their second consecutive ODI series win against Sri Lanka. Anamul Haque, Mustafizur Rahman, and Rishad Hossain were brought in, replacing Liton Das, Tanzim Hasan, and Taijul Islam. Liton Das was dropped to make way for Jaker Ali Anik, who did not debut in the ODI format. Tanzim Hasan Sakib was sidelined due to a hamstring injury, while Taijul was omitted due to poor performance in the previous matches.

Having won the first game by six wickets, Bangladesh had the opportunity to clinch the series early, but Sri Lanka fought back, levelling the series with a three-wicket win in the second ODI. This makes the third and final game decisive.

Sri Lanka made one change to their lineup, with offspinner Maheesh Theekshana returning to the side due to pacer Dilshan Madushanka's absence following a hamstring injury.

The lineups are as follows:

Bangladesh: Soumya Sarkar, Anamul Haque, Najmul Hossain Shanto (c), Towhid Hridoy, Mushfiqur Rahim (w), Mahmudullah, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Rishad Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Mustafizur Rahman
