Rajshahi, Sept 13 (V7N) – With the slogan “Let’s Change the Country, Let’s Change the World,” the Divisional Taekwondo Open Poomsae Championship 2025 was held in Rajshahi on Friday, organized by the Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation. The day-long competition began at 9 a.m. at the District Gymnasium and brought together nearly 300 competitors from different districts and upazilas of Rajshahi Division.
 
The event was inaugurated by the Senior Vice President of the Federation and National Award-winning footballer, Hasanuzzaman Khan Babul. From children to teenagers and young athletes, participants took part in various categories, creating a vibrant sporting atmosphere throughout the day.
 
According to the organizers, this type of competition will help popularize taekwondo across the country and encourage the younger generation to engage more in sports. The championship drew significant enthusiasm within the sporting community as contestants from different districts of Rajshahi Division competed.
 
In the evening, prizes were distributed to the winners by senior sports officials, including the Additional District Commissioner (NDC). The event was jointly supported by the Rajshahi District Sports Association and the Rajshahi Divisional Sports Association.
 
The program was conducted by Mumit Hasan, General Secretary of the Rajshahi Divisional Taekwondo Association. Among those present were Mozzafar Hossain, General Secretary of Rajshahi Taekwondo Dojang; Jahangir Hossain, District Sports Officer of Rajshahi; Sekendar Ali, President of Rajshahi Taekwondo Dojang; Engr. A.K.M. Rafiqul Islam, Advisor of the Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation; Arif Rabbani, Member of the Ad-hoc Committee; A.T.M. Golam Mahbub, Member Secretary of the Divisional Sports Association and Deputy Director of the Department of Youth Development, Rajshahi; and Assistant Coaches of the Divisional Taekwondo Association including Ihteshamul Alam, Masud Rana, and Ashiq Mahmud, along with other members and students.
 
Following the competition, General Secretary of the Rajshahi Divisional Taekwondo Association, Mummit Hasan, expressed his gratitude to all supporters and emphasized the importance of such events in building future champions. He said the overwhelming participation of young players was inspiring and reflected the bright future of taekwondo in Bangladesh.
 
Similarly, Rajshahi Taekwondo Dojang’s General Secretary, Mozzafar Hossain, praised the Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation and the supporting sports associations for creating opportunities through regular competitions. He noted that events like this not only nurture talent but also inspire the youth towards sports and help strengthen Bangladesh’s position in the international arena.
