In a bid to enhance Pakistan's performance ahead of the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced significant changes to its cricket selection committee on Sunday, introducing a collaborative approach that includes the captain and head coach in the decision-making process.

The seven-member committee was unveiled by newly elected PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi during a press conference in Lahore. Naqvi emphasized that the reorganization aims to empower each member equally, with no designated chairman, fostering a more inclusive and balanced decision-making environment.

Among the notable additions to the committee are former captain Mohammad Yousuf, Wahab Riaz, Abdul Razzaq, and Asad Shafiq, all of whom have represented Pakistan in the past. They will be joined by the current captain, head coach, and a data analyst, forming a diverse team with varied perspectives.

Naqvi also announced a two-week training camp at the army base Kakul, beginning Monday, as part of the team's preparations for the upcoming tournaments.

With Pakistan currently without a head coach following their disappointing performance in the last World Cup, Naqvi hinted at a possible change in T20 International (T20I) captaincy, leaving the decision to the selection committee after the training camp.

Pakistan's upcoming schedule includes T20I series against New Zealand, Ireland, and England before participating in the T20 World Cup in the United States and the West Indies. These changes aim to bolster the team's prospects and improve results in the forthcoming competitions.
