In the second phase of the ABG Bangladesh Premier League football, Mohammedan Sporting Club showcased a dominant performance, securing a resounding 4-0 victory against Fortis Sporting Club at Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh on Friday.
The match saw Mohammedan's Uzbek midfielder Muzaffar Muzaffarov, Malian forward Souleymane Diabate, forward Jafar Iqbal, and midfielder Shahriar Emon each contributing a goal to secure the win. Mohammedan took control early, leading the first half with a comfortable 2-0 advantage.
Muzaffar initiated the scoring, breaking the deadlock with the first goal for Mohammedan in the 41st minute. Shortly after, Diabate extended the lead, netting the second goal from a spot kick just before halftime in the 45+1st minute.
After halftime, Mohammedan continued their offensive prowess, with Jafar widening their margin by adding the third goal in the 53rd minute. Emon sealed the victory with the fourth goal in the 59th minute, completing the winners' tally.
With this impressive victory, Mohammedan Sporting Club, adorned in their traditional black and white Motijheel attire, solidified their position in the league standings, accumulating 20 points from ten matches. On the other hand, Fortis Sporting Club maintained their previous collection of twelve points, having played the same number of matches.
Mohammedan's commanding performance underscores their determination to excel in the league, while Fortis will be looking to bounce back from this defeat in their upcoming matches.
