Bangladesh Women's cricket team faced a resounding defeat against Australia in the opening match of the three-match T20 International series, despite Skipper Nigar Sultana's commendable 63-run innings. Australia clinched a commanding 10-wicket victory at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

In a one-sided showdown, Bangladesh Women's cricket team endured a crushing defeat against the dominant Australian side in the inaugural match of the three-match T20 International series.

Despite Skipper Nigar Sultana's valiant effort with the bat, guiding her team to a total of 126-4 after opting to bat first, Bangladesh faltered against Australia's formidable bowling attack. The Australian duo of Captain Alyssa Healy and opener Beth Mooney spearheaded the chase, with Healy's explosive 65 off 42 balls, adorned with nine fours and one six, leading the charge.

Mooney's unbeaten 55 off 36 balls further solidified Australia's dominance as they effortlessly chased down the target in just 13 overs, without losing a wicket. Bangladesh suffered an early setback with Dilara Akter and Sobhana Mostary departing without troubling the scorers, leaving the team reeling at 2 for 2 in the second over.

However, Nigar Sultana's resilient innings, supported briefly by Murshida Khatun and Fahima Khatun, provided some resistance before Bangladesh ultimately succumbed to Australia's superior firepower.

The upcoming second and third T20 matches on April 2 and 4 hold the promise of redemption for Bangladesh, following their whitewash defeat in the preceding three-match ODI series against Australia.
