Dhaka, Mar 10 (V7N) – India national cricket team have been crowned champions of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, creating history by winning back-to-back titles. Along with the trophy, India received Tk 365.7 million as prize money.

The runners-up New Zealand national cricket team earned Tk 195 million for finishing second in the tournament.

Meanwhile, the two semi-finalists South Africa national cricket team and England national cricket team received Tk 96.3 million each. Teams that reached the Super Eight stage—Zimbabwe national cricket team, Sri Lanka national cricket team, West Indies cricket team, and Pakistan national cricket team—each received Tk 46.3 million.

In addition, the 12 teams eliminated in the group stage were awarded Tk 3 million each.

This year’s tournament featured 20 teams, divided into four groups:

  • Group A: India, Namibia, Netherlands, Pakistan, USA

  • Group B: Australia, Ireland, Oman, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe

  • Group C: England, Italy, Nepal, Scotland, West Indies

  • Group D: Afghanistan, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, United Arab Emirates

According to the International Cricket Council (ICC), the total prize fund for this edition was about Tk 164 crore, which is around 20 percent higher than the 2024 tournament.
