Paris, Mar 12 (V7N) – Paris Saint-Germain moved a step closer to the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals after defeating Chelsea FC 5–2 in a thrilling seven-goal encounter at home.
Coached by Luis Enrique, PSG secured an important first-leg advantage despite Chelsea fighting back twice during the match.
PSG initially took the lead through Bradley Barcola, but Chelsea responded quickly as Malo Gusto equalised for the visitors. Later, Ousmane Dembélé restored PSG’s lead before Enzo Fernández brought Chelsea level again at 2–2.
The turning point of the match came after a costly mistake by the Chelsea goalkeeper, allowing Vitinha to put PSG ahead once more.
Substitute Khvicha Kvaratskhelia then took control of the game, scoring twice, including one in injury time, to seal PSG’s commanding 5–2 victory.
Chelsea now face a difficult task in the second leg at Stamford Bridge next Tuesday, where they will need an extraordinary comeback to keep their Champions League hopes alive.
