Argentina retains its top spot in the latest FIFA World Ranking, while Bangladesh slips one place to 184th following recent defeats against Palestine. Belgium overtakes England to claim the 3rd position, while Portugal climbs to 6th, marking significant changes in the top ten rankings.

In the latest FIFA World Ranking published by the apex body on Thursday (Apr 4), Argentina continues its dominance by retaining the top position, a position it secured from arch-rival Brazil in April last year. The South American powerhouse has maintained its stronghold on the top spot for a year.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh, ranked 183rd in October last, experiences a slight setback, slipping one place to settle for the 184th position. This decline follows Bangladesh's consecutive defeats against war-torn Palestine in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers last month. The Bangladeshi team suffered a significant 0-5 defeat in their away match in Kuwait on March 21, followed by a 0-1 loss in their home match at the Bashundhara Kings Arena in Dhaka on March 26.

Significant changes are witnessed in the top ten positions, with Belgium surpassing England to claim the 3rd slot, while Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal climbs one step to settle for 6th place.

Among other top ten FIFA rankings, France secures the 2nd position, followed by England in 4th, Brazil in 5th, Netherlands in 7th, Spain in 8th, Italy in 9th, and Croatia in 10th. These rankings reflect the competitive landscape of international football and set the stage for exciting matchups in the upcoming tournaments.
