Bashundhara Kings advanced to the semifinals of the ABG Bashundhara Federation Cup football tournament after defeating Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society with a scoreline of 2-0 in the second quarterfinal held at Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium in Gopalganj on Tuesday.
In the match, midfielder Sohel Rana opened the scoring for Kings in the 25th minute with a left-footed shot, assisted by Robson from a dangerous area.
After halftime, Nigerian forward Mfon Sunday Udoh secured the victory for Kings by scoring the second goal in the 62nd minute. Udoh received a pass from Robson, made a run towards goal, and placed a lofted shot into the net, evading Rahmatganj's goalkeeper who came out to clear the ball.
Despite Rahmatganj's efforts to stage a comeback in the match, they were unable to convert any chances in the remaining proceedings.
In the first quarterfinal held on April 2, Mohammedan Sporting Club secured their spot in the semifinals by defeating Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra 2-1.
