Bangladesh's pace spearhead, Taskin Ahmed, was sidelined for the fifth and final T20 against Zimbabwe due to a side strain injury.
He incurred the injury while diving to save runs in the fourth T20, which Bangladesh won by five runs, securing a 4-0 lead in the series.
The severity of the injury remains uncertain. BCB chief physician Dr. Debashis Chowdhury stated, "Taskin suffered the injury while diving to save runs during the fourth T20 game against Zimbabwe.
He still has pain, hence his absence from the fifth game. He is currently under observation, and we are managing his injury." Despite his recent form, Taskin has been plagued by injuries throughout his career, even taking breaks from Test cricket to address them.
Following a shoulder injury during the World Cup in India last year, Taskin was rested for the Sri Lanka and New Zealand series. His participation in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and the Zimbabwe series marked his return to international cricket since the World Cup.
