Arsenal and Netherlands forward Vivianne Miedema will be departing the Women's Super League club at the end of the season, as announced on Monday. The 27-year-old has been a prolific scorer for the Gunners since her arrival from Bayern Munich in 2017, tallying 125 goals and 50 assists in 172 appearances.

Miedema holds the record for the most goals in the WSL with 78 strikes and was instrumental in Arsenal's league title win during the 2018/19 season. Despite returning from an anterior cruciate ligament injury, she has made 13 appearances for Jonas Eidevall's team this season, finding the net once.

Arsenal's sporting director Edu expressed gratitude to Miedema for her significant contributions to the team's success over the past seven years, stating, "Viv's goals and overall performances as an Arsenal player have been of the highest quality and she has created so many wonderful memories for us over the years."
