Adam Zampa spearheaded Australia’s demolition of Namibia’s batting lineup, bundling out the southern Africans for a mere 72 runs off 17 overs in their Group B match at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua on Tuesday.

Namibia, having been put in to bat under breezy, drizzly conditions, struggled against the 2021 champions' disciplined new ball attack and efficient fielding. Australia’s bowlers, led by Josh Hazlewood and Marcus Stoinis, applied early pressure that restricted the Namibian batsmen.

Zampa then dominated the lower order, finishing with exceptional figures of four for 12. His fourth wicket came on the last ball of his four-over spell when he bowled Bernard Scholtz for a duck, marking Zampa as the first Australian male cricketer to achieve 100 T20 International wickets.

Namibian captain Gerhard Erasmus was the lone bright spot, taking 17 deliveries to get off the mark but eventually top-scoring with 36 off 43 balls, including four fours and one six. Erasmus was the ninth wicket to fall, and Marcus Stoinis claimed his second wicket of the match. Hazlewood also contributed significantly with two wickets.

With prior victories over Oman and England, a win here will ensure Australia’s place in the Super Eights phase of the competition.
