The 2nd Test match between Australia and West Indies saw an exciting rollercoaster ride on Day 2 with many ups and downs. The Aussies overcame early batting difficulties with the help of Alex Carey's blitz and Pat Cummins' bold declaration.

With a respectable 311 runs, the Windies started the day positively. However, Australia found themselves in dire straights at 24-4 and later 54-5, courtesy of Kemar Roach's triple strike that dismissed key players - Smith, Labuschagne and Head. Just when the Windies seemed to be in control, Alex Carey emerged as the saviour for Australia, blasting a ruthless 65 off 49 deliveries, single-handedly reviving the innings.

As the Windies sensed an opportunity to establish a big lead, Pat Cummins burst onto the scene with a brilliant partnership with Usman Khawaja (75). The pair added 173 runs, putting Australia out of trouble. Khawaja eventually fell to Kevin Sinclair, who claimed his first Test wicket, paving the way for Cummins to showcase his batting prowess. The captain smashed his highest Test score of 64, displaying a blend of elegance and brute force, with 35 minutes to spare for a late bowling burst before boldly declaring at 289-9.

After a cautious start to the second innings, the Windies lost the match when Tagenarin Chanderpaul was caught by an impressive Josh Hazlewood in the final over, capping a day filled with drama.
