Four-time Olympic gold medallist Simone Biles is set to return to the Olympic stage, heading to the Paris Games with a commanding victory in the all-around competition at the US gymnastics trials on Sunday. Biles, demonstrating her extraordinary talent, amassed a total score of 117.225 over two days, securing an automatic berth on the five-strong US team for Paris.

Biles's return to competition has been nothing short of spectacular. Three years after her Tokyo campaign was cut short due to the "twisties," she has made a triumphant comeback. Since returning last August, she has captured the world championships all-around gold and claimed her ninth national all-around title three weeks ago.

At the trials, Biles wowed the crowd with her floor routine and a high-flying Yurchenko double pike vault, scoring 15.50 points despite a slight stumble on landing. Although she had a less-than-perfect balance beam performance, falling off during her routine, she still managed an impressive 13.900.

Joining Biles on the team is Suni Lee, the Tokyo Olympics all-around gold medallist, who finished second with 111.675 points. Despite battling two career-threatening kidney diseases, Lee's resilience and determination earned her a spot on the team. Jordan Chiles, part of the silver medal-winning US team in Tokyo, finished third, while Tokyo floor gold medallist Jade Carey secured the fourth spot. Sixteen-year-old Hezly Rivera rounded out the team, buoyed by a strong performance on the balance beam and a solid vault.

The trials were particularly emotional for Lee, who competed in front of her home state fans in Minnesota. Reflecting on her journey, Lee expressed her gratitude for the support that kept her motivated through challenging times. "I was reminded of my goals every day and constantly surrounded by people who never let me give up," she said, tearfully recalling her doubts about returning to the Games a year ago.

Chiles, dedicating her performance to her late grandfather and aunt, expressed her determination to continue pushing for her Olympic dreams. "They always believed in me, and that's what made me continue to push my dream, push to another Olympics, which is crazy to say," she shared.

As the team prepares for Paris, all eyes will be on Biles, who enters the Games as the overwhelming favorite to add to her four gold medals from Rio de Janeiro in 2016. "I love these girls, and I'm going to take care of them in Paris," Biles said, underscoring her commitment to her teammates and her readiness to shine on the Olympic stage once again.
