Las Vegas, July 13 (V7N)- In an NBA 2K25 Summer League showdown at Las Vegas' Thomas and Mack Center on Friday night, impressive performances by rookie first-round picks Alex Sarr and Carlton “Bub” Carrington powered the Washington Wizards to a thrilling 94-86 comeback victory over Zaccharie Risacher and the Atlanta Hawks.
Atlanta initially appeared dominant, seizing a 23-14 lead after the first quarter, hinting at a strong start. However, Washington steadily closed the gap through the middle quarters, completely wiping out a nine-point deficit to take a narrow lead heading into the final period. Although the Hawks surged ahead by six points with 5:19 remaining, the Wizards finished strong with a decisive 20-6 run to secure the win.
Risacher, the top pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, led the charge for the Hawks with 18 points, five rebounds, two assists, and a block. Mouhamed Gueye contributed 16 points, four rebounds, one assist, three steals, and one block, while Dylan Windler added 12 points, eight rebounds, one assist, and one steal. Miles Norris and Keaton Wallace each provided nine points and four rebounds, with Wallace also dishing out six assists.
Meanwhile, Carrington led the Wizards with 19 points, nine rebounds, eight assists, one steal, and one block. Justin Champagnie contributed 18 points, five assists, four rebounds, one steal, and one block, while Sarr filled the stat sheet with 12 points, seven rebounds, four assists, four blocks, and a steal. Johnny Davis matched Sarr’s 12 points and added six rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block.
Next up, the Hawks will face the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday evening, while the Wizards will take on the Houston Rockets earlier in the day.
