Pakistani cricketer Muhammad Rizwan, a key player for the Comilla Victorians in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), advocates for comprehensive reforms to elevate the league to global franchise standards. As the BPL marks its tenth season, Rizwan highlights its evolution, initially considered the world's second-best franchise league after the IPL. Recent seasons, however, show a shift towards internal improvements rather than global rankings.

Rizwan expressed, “BPL has to take steps ahead if it is compared to other leagues,” citing the need for improvement acknowledged by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). He identifies unique challenges for the BPL compared to leagues in the UAE, Australia, or South Africa.

Despite challenges like discord, mismanagement, financial difficulties, and perceived lack of professionalism impacting BPL's reputation, Ismail Haider Mallick, member secretary of the BPL governing body, emphasizes relying on their own system rather than emulating other leagues.

To enhance viewer attraction, BPL organizers have invested in improving television production, incorporating spider and buggy cameras for an enriched viewing experience. The tenth season, currently at the halfway point, resumes in Dhaka after a break, with subsequent phases in Chattogram before concluding in Dhaka.
